Bocuse d’Or is one of the most prestigious gastronomic competitions in the world. Created by the French Chef Paul Bocuse in January 1987 it is held bi-annualy in Lyon, France. This year’s Championship has 24 finalists and 2 of them are from Eastern Europe.
Estonia as an old contestant, represented by Heidi Pinnak, Chef of Tallin’s Egoist restaurant.
And one of the first time contestants: Hungary represented by Tamás Szél – a 30 year old Sous Chef at Michelin-star Onyx Restaurant in Budapest.
Both Hungary and Estonia will be competing on the second day of the championship (January 30) and its been said that this year will, more than ever, be about creativity, daring and expression of culinary diversity.
