At Budapest’s Oktogon you can easily spot a beautiful building in red lighting at night, the result of a 1.5 year project by Numbernow architects studio. It is the newest of Budapest’s numerous great clubs. The address is 52 Andrássy út.
This unique club was created in 5 months and its located in the beautiful Haggenmacher palace built at the end of the 19th century. The plan was to create something unusual while keeping the traditional atmosphere of the place.
Instead of being another crammed ruin pub, HelloBaby Bar is clean and spacious.
The interior is trendy low-light design, so everything is deliberately underlit. This gives the luxurious palace a mysterious but cozy feeling.
The walls lack any decoration and label. As a creative solution projectors provide images and signposts. In the rooms B&W art movies of Péter Rudolf Kiss are shown.
While the interior has solid simplicity, the courtyard (originally used as a turnaround) is quite the opposite! This is the most exciting place of Hellobaby.
400 people can party on the open-air dance floor while vivid colors illuminate the three stories above the courtyard. Deteriorating walls, old columns, exciting lights and mysterious smoke.
The target audience is people over 25 who love electronic music (mainly house). Hellobaby was meant to be a classy club that creates unique feelings in everyone. The capacity is 1000 people, the prices are average: draught beer from 550Ft (less than 2 Eur).
Party on until dawn for a unique experience: as the sun comes up, the artificial lights slowly disappear.
The party is coming to an end, the lights are dimming. The building takes off the night costume and shows us her real face. She then goes to work: a library is operated in the same building.
